In the early nineties, Sister Umm Zayd (Founder and Chairperson of the Trust) started her Islamic education at Madrassatul Hafsa. Eleven years ago she came to India to serve in the path of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. In the cosmopolitan city of Bangalore, she would go house to house preaching the teachings of Allah, the Almighty and Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). With the will and mercy of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, her efforts transformed into an Islamic Institute named as Darul Ayman Educational and Charitable Trust that offers Islamic education to women and children, purely in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Its primary basis of approach is preaching the oneness of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. It prepares young girls and women intellectually and emotionally to excel in their daily lives and in their interactions within the secular society, while strengthening the purpose of their existence i.e. to strive for a good hereafter. Alhamdulillah, it's been more than ten years and Darul Ayman now operates from eight branches in Bangaluru - R T Nagar, BTM Layout, HSR Layout, Benson Town, Koramangala, Jayanagar, Basavanagudi and an exclusive branch for boys and men at Petty Crew Street, near Bharti Nagar Police Station.
Darul Ayman caters to the students of all ages and from all walks of life. The rich and the poor, the highly educated and the uneducated, sit side by side and acquire religious education at a minimal fee. At present, the consolidated number of students from all the branches is five hundred. Free of cost education is provided to the students from the weaker section of the society. The students come from diverse professional and social backgrounds like high post academicians, law practitioners, medicine practitioners, engineers, scientists, humanitarians, business and management professionals, home makers and college and school students.
A team of more than 20 teachers, assistants and volunteers ensure perfect and timely conduct of classes and distribution of study material and advertisement fliers that are cautiously developed by an exclusive team at Darul Ayman. Most of the present teachers are the former students who have been thoroughly trained in Darul Ayman. There are also a few teachers who possess formal Islamic Qualifications from well-disciplined Islamic Schools.
Our aim and activities:
To instill the teachings of the Noble Quran and the authentic Sunnah in every heart and mind thereby helping in the social and spiritual growth of every individual.
To train qualified teachers to propagate Islam.
To collect Zakah and charity from the rich in the society and see to its equal distribution among the needy and poor.
To assist in the weddings of poor and needy girls.
To attend to the needs of the sick and suffering, in cash and in kind.
To help build homes and toilets for poor.
To provide reasonable funds to the poor for establishing small businesses.
To help educate poor and orphaned children by helping them with school/college admissions and paying their fees.
